Tijdens Heechspanning kun je op elke straathoek verrast worden door niet alleen voorgeprogrammeerde acts maar ook door allerlei rondtrekkende wezens zoals draken, aapjes of de lokale dorpsgek.
Op iedere hoek van de straat kun je genieten van muziek.

The most beautiful sailing competition for skûtsjes in Friesland
The term Skûtsjesilen refers to the annual sailing race held in Friesland. But this is not just any sailing race. It involves sailing with old cargo ships. These cargo ships are long and flat (unlike regular sailboats) and were traditionally used to transport goods to farms. While sailing on these cargo ships used to be quite common, skûtsjesilen has now become a true tradition.
